A few years ago I was privileged to serve as honors thesis advisor for a young scholar, Aven Satre-Meloy, who would soon be awarded a Fulbright and then continue his studies as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, where he is currently working on an M.Phil as a member of St. John's College.
I had lunch with Aven today, and he handed me a late birdthday present, one of the best I've ever received. It was a copy of Writen Riven, a Journal of Eco-poetics, in which his honors thesis was just published. You can access it here: writtenriver.com/chasing-the-memory-of-a-naturalist/
